Instructions

  1. Gentle Steam: Fill a large skillet with about an inch of water and place a steamer basket inside. Cover and bring to a simmer. Steam the asparagus until just tender—about 5 minutes.
  2. Drain & Prep: Drain the asparagus and wipe the skillet dry with paper towels.
  3. The Infusion: Return the pan to medium-low heat. Add two generous tablespoons of Valèvida and the minced garlic, sautéing until fragrant—about 1 minute.
  4. The Finish: Add the asparagus back into the pan, tossing gently until coated in the garlic-infused oil. Sauté for just a few minutes until warmed through.
  5. Season: Finish with a sprinkle of sea salt.

Do not overcook. Asparagus should remain tender-crisp, not soft.

To Serve

  • Plate immediately and drizzle with extra Valèvida if desired.
  • Pair with grilled fish, chicken, or tofu.
  • Serve alongside your wholesome carb of choice.
  • Finish with fleur de sel for a delicate crust.

Valèvida Note

By adding that final pour of Valèvida at the table, you are practicing "top-dressing." Since this oil hasn't been exposed to the heat of the skillet, you are consuming the polyphenols (specifically the Oleocanthal) in their most potent, raw state. It is the simplest way to turn a delicious side dish into a functional practice for your health.
